Statement from Mikki: Calculated is about experiencing consistent loss of love and for love. Happiness can come from the simplest of actions, but many people make our experiences more complicated then they need to be. I make my experiences more complicated then they need to be, a lot. The spirit and mind are wholesome when love can surround our space without complication or extreme calculation.
Be present.
Be wholesome.
Be spiritual.
Live in the now.
Live in the present.
Thank you to my best friends for helping me grow as an artist and for being part of my art. I could not do this without Justin or Dom. They keep me sane in my time of need, and their creative minds are necessary in what we call "Dipped."
Nick, you are a delight to be around and to correspond with, and Calculated would not be what it is without you. Your production work is a gift and a treat. I am so lucky to have you in my life and as a part of my art.
Luis, thank you for always trying for me and for the sake of art itself. You're real. You're wholesome. You're always there for me. Thank you. Nothing with you has ever been "calculated."
Charles and Rose, I have never met either one of you, and I think it is extremely beautiful, spiritual, and inspirational that you took on this project like champs without even knowing me for the sake of art itself. Thank you for your hard work.
Henry, I remember introducing this song to the group when you were still part of the project. Thank you for helping with the chorus and the structure of the song. There is not one time I have played this song without thinking about you and I making music music together. You are a great musician, and a fantastic friend.
lyrics
Lyrics:
Lying in my bed again
Thinking how we used to be
The other guy he slit his wrists
But you're a coward how it's supposed to be
And I wish I could be happy with the simplicity
But it's calculated X2
Watching all the dancing
But in my head it is you
The other guy he's sweeter too
But you're a wild catch it's what I see
And I wish I could be happy with the simplicity
But it's calculated X4
